Baton Rouge, La. – WESTPAC, a political action committee of the Louisiana Association of Business and Industry (LABI), today announced its endorsement of Biscuit Smith (R-Longville) for his election bid for House District 32.
WESTPAC covers the Lafayette, Lake Charles and Alexandria regions of the state.
“We encourage the broader business community to support our endorsed candidates in their elections this fall,” Brian Landry, executive director of WESTPAC, said. “This is a critical and dynamic election cycle and we must support those candidates who can make hard decisions in tough situations. “
WESTPAC has endorsed Biscuit Smith to challenge Representative Dorothy Sue Hill this fall. The members of WESTPAC believe Smith’s background as a small business owner and manufacturer will be an asset to the legislature. Smith has served on the Beauregard Parish Police Jury for the past eight years, including two years as jury president.
“I’m hoping to bring my experiences of running a business, managing a budget and serving my community as police juror to the state capitol. I know the state faces some serious challenges, but I believe my background has prepared me for those challenges,” said Smith.
Smith is married to Casey Smith who teaches second grade at South Beauregard Elementary. Together they have five children Caitlin, Claye, Belle, Beaux and Cole.
